Training

Staff Orientation at Beth Sholom Day Camp is an essential time for our administration to outline the camp’s rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures. We recognize that it’s impossible to know everything, which is why we emphasize that “Our Leadership Team is here to support you!” If you’re unsure about anything, we encourage you to JUST ASK! Remember, while camp is FUN, it’s also a professional JOB, and we MUST all be on the same page!

It’s our RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that every camper remains safe and happy, a task that is sometimes easy, but not always. Over the past 10 months, we’ve worked hard preparing for the campers’ arrival, and now it’s YOUR TURN to bring our plans to life. During orientation, with the help of the staff handbook, you will learn extensively about Beth Sholom Day Camp—our goals, values, and policies. You will also learn whom to approach for assistance in any situation where you’re uncertain. It’s crucial that you read the handbook thoroughly, so we can count on you to handle all situations correctly this summer.

Together, we’re going to create an environment where campers feel safe enough to try new things and take some risks. We’ll be there to cheer them on as they strive for success. And if things don’t go as planned, we’ll be right there with a hug and the encouragement they need to try again.

LET OUR ENTHUSIASM AND PASSION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN BE CONTAGIOUS!
