When you opt-in for text messaging, we will send you text messages related to camp activities, registration, bussing, updates, and reminders. You can opt-out at any time by following the instructions in our text messages.

For current camp families that opt-in to the text messaging service, BSDC sends recurring autodialed text messages to the phone number(s) provided with important information about our camp, your camper, and marketing or promotional communications from BSDC. Consent is not required, and you can opt out at any time. Messaging and data rates may apply.

Communication via Direct Message and Social Media

If you communicate with us through direct message or social media, we may keep a record of this communication. We use this data to respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and improve our services.

Using the Campanion App

When using the Campanion App, we may collect personal data to improve functionality and user experience. This can include usage data, device information, location data, and any other information you choose to provide within the app.

PARENTAL CONSENT

Under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), an operator of a commercial website or online service directed to children under 13 years of age is required to obtain verifiable parental consent to collect, use, or disclose personal information of a child. There are certain limited exceptions allowing operators to collect a child’s email address without prior parental consent, including but not limited to, collecting a child’s or parent’s email address to provide notice and to seek consent, and collecting an email address to respond to a one-time request from a child and then deleting it.

As noted above, we wish to obtain the types of information identified above from those people, including children, who visit our website.

To ensure that we comply with the law, we request children under 13 years of age not to contact us directly, but rather to have their parents or guardian contact us.

You may refuse to allow us to collect or use any personally identifying information on your child and/or to communicate with your child, and to have us delete what information we do have. If you consent at first, you may later change your mind and revoke your consent.

If you have any questions about COPPA, you may contact the Federal Trade Commission online at www.ftc.gov. You also may call the FTC’s Consumer Response Center toll-free at 1-877-FTC-HELP (382-4357), or write Consumer Response Center, Federal Trade Commission, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20580.

We collect information about children from their parents or guardians directly when they register for our camp. We use this information to provide and manage camp activities. We will not disclose any personal information of children to third parties without obtaining prior parental consent, except as necessary to provide our services or as required by law.
