Campers Security

Ensuring our camp’s security and a safe environment for all our campers and staff is our top priority. Here are the key features of our security measures:

Controlled Access

To maintain a secure camp, only one entrance to the facility is open at a time during the summer months.

ID Card Requeriment

We maintain stringent security by implementing an access control system that requires all staff members to present an ID card for entry and monitors access at all times.

CCTV Video Surveillance

CCTV video surveillance cameras are installed throughout the interior and exterior of the buildings, providing 24/7 monitoring.

Security Personnel

We have 5 to 7 security guards on duty at all times, provided by reputable companies such as Global and Arrow Security.

Comprehensive Security Training for Staff

During orientation, all staff members are thoroughly trained on security procedures, including emergency responses, fire drills, recognition of suspicious behavior, and execution of evacuation and active shooter protocols.

Staff Comprehensive Background Checks

All staff members undergo a comprehensive background check and are screened against sexual offender registries prior to employment at Beth Sholom Day Camp.

Fire Safety Drill

All staff members undergo a comprehensive background cAll campers and staff are required to participate in a fire safety drill within 48 hours of arriving at camp check and are screened against sexual offender registries prior to employment at Beth Sholom Day Camp.

Emergency Preparedness and Safety Plan

We maintain an annually updated Safety Plan that addresses emergency preparedness for scenarios such as fire, intruder situations, and severe weather.

Visitor Check In and Badges

All visitors must check in and receive a visitor badge upon entry. Parents are permitted to enter the facility only on designated visiting days.

Safe Pick Up Procedures

Campers at Beth Sholom Day Camp can only be picked up by pre-approved family members, whose details must be provided in advance. Identification is required at pickup, and all campers must be signed out on a legal document. For early pickups, staff will escort campers to their parents outside the building; no parent is permitted to enter the facility.
