What are the dates for the 2025 camp season?
Camp runs for 8 weeks, from June 30 through August 22. We require a minimum of 4 weeks, and you may choose any combination of weeks. Please note that the camp will be closed on July 4th in observance of Independence Day.
Where are most of the children from?
Most of our campers come from Nassau County and parts of Queens.
What are the typical group sizes?
Our group sizes typically range from 14 to 20 campers, grouped by age.
What is a typical day like at camp?
Campers participate in age-appropriate activities such as sports, arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, yoga, martial arts, STEM, pedal go-karts, and Ninja. Full-day campers enjoy two swim periods per day.
Will my child learn to swim at camp?
Yes, campers swim twice a day (Mini Day swims once). One period is instructional, and the other is free swim. We employ Nassau County certified lifeguards and Water Safety instructors, following the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
What happens when it rains?
Our schedule continues regardless of rain. We utilize our vast indoor space to run a full and exciting rainy-day program.
How many staff are there in each group?
Our Junior Camp, for 3-5-year-olds, typically maintains a 4:1 camper-to-staff ratio with a registered teacher as the group leader. Our Lower and Upper Camps maintain a 5:1 ratio.
How do you communicate with parents during the summer?
Camp leadership communicates via phone and email. Staff are engaged with campers during the day, and phone calls are generally returned after 4:15 PM.
What do I send to camp every day?
Please send a bathing suit, sunscreen, and a water bottle filled with water (which we will refill throughout the day) each day. Towels are provided by the camp. For a detailed list of what you need for camp, click here.
What shoes should my camper wear?
Campers are very active at camp, so it’s important that all footwear is safe and stable for use on uneven or soft ground. We require campers to wear sturdy sneakers and socks every day! For a detailed list of what you need for camp, click here.
Is camp competitive or non-competitive?
At camp, we prioritize participation, learning, and self-esteem for all children. We offer older campers the opportunity to engage in tournaments, adding a level of competition for those interested.
What if my child does not know anyone at camp?
