Embrace leadership and growth in our Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program at Beth Sholom Day Camp, designed for teens entering 9th and 10th grades. Our CITs get the best of both worlds: the fun of traditional camp activities and the rewarding experience of working with children. Splitting their day between enjoying regular camp fun and assisting counselors, CITs immerse themselves in the camp community, while honing their leadership skills and preparing to become the future guides of camp life.
CITs enjoy a diverse program that includes engaging weekly field trips, a meaningful community service project, and one adventurous overnight, designed to enrich their camp experience. Throughout the summer, our CITs follow a comprehensive learning path, covering vital skills such as behavior management, effective communication techniques, and the art of being a positive role model.
Key to the CIT experience are team building exercises focused on boosting self-confidence and promoting unity. Orchestrated by our skilled CIT Coordinator, the program ensures a structured yet enjoyable summer, laying the foundation for leadership excellence.
